Not gonna admit to anything, but its always a good idea to verify button function when replacing the cracked center console of your C5 Corvette.

If you just assume that the gas door button that came with your uncracked replacement is the same because it looks, feels, and plugs in the exactly the s ame way, you could hypothetically have to take it all back apart after you're done...

Let me guess, one is normally open and the other is normally closed (i.e. the replacement meant a permanently-released door)?

Problem is, you cant see the part numbers  when the part is installed

I didn’t bother removing it because it looked the same lol

that is a very good point lol

i build new stuff that occasionally doesnt work coz wrong number so i have the luxury of seeing the numbers before i fuck it all up

They are the same part, different lots though. Possibly a revision change made it not comparable, but most likely it is borked.
